Good variety, good tasting, and every dish that passed us looked great! Also, good portion size for the price!

Colby’s is a fantastic place to get breakfast or lunch in Portsmouth. We came here on a cold day and while we waited, were able to have a free coffee. The servers are all wonderful and make the effort to remember your name and make you feel like a regular. The atmosphere is fun and inviting, with paintings from local artists on the wall! The food: I loved loved loved their corned beef hash. You can tell it was home made and fresh. The portions are fair, but I think I was extra hungry and able to eat all of my dish. I would highly recommend Colby’s and don’t be intimidated if there’s a wait. It’ll usually take about 20 minutes to get seated.

Colbys always seems to have a long line if you dont come early enough. We wanted to see what all the hype was about. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long until we were seated. On a plus side, they do offer coffee as you wait outside. The blueberry pancake was a good size but not ginormous as I've read from other reviews. It was fluffy and soft though. The omelet was also decent as well. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here and were happy to finally try this restaurant. But is this place worth the long wait? I am not so sure about that.

Fresh made hash and Benedict eggs, plate size buttermilk pancake are really good. A small friendly breakfast and lunch spot. Expect a short wait but well worth it.

Fantastic breakfast, great service, very friendly place to start your day. We will come back. The Irish Eggs were awesome, and the cinnamon French toast was like no other.

Definitely the best breakfast experience in Portsmouth. Kind & attentive servers that are quick to fill your cup, but by no means hovering. The pancakes are fantastic and the omelette was great. Home fries are typically boring, but Colbys' are lightly seasoned to perfection. The ambiance of the quaint homestyle location is the best around, and you cannot beat the real NH maple syrup. I just wish I could give 6/5 stars

The breakfast was outstanding. From the homemade corned beef hash to the perfectly cooked poached eggs, it was excellent. The gigantic blueberry pancake was a real treat, almost too big to finish just one. Good eats!

Delicious food, always friendly and attentive. There’s a wait 90% of the time. Weekends are crazy, so if you don’t have an extra hour I wouldn’t suggest to go on Fridays and Saturdays.Food is delicious. They have a real Maple Syrup which goes great with their Granola Pancakes!

If you want to fully enjoy Colby's without feeling rushed, I recommend going during the middle of the week, as early as possible. It's nice and quite and the food comes out almost as quick as you order it.

What an awesome spot! We were passing through and was looking for a brunch spot. While it wasn't super quick (we had to wait about 40 minutes), the food was awesome and the staff were great! I got the Reuben sandwich but asked for it on a bagel. Highly recommend!

Decided to give Colby’s a try on a week day! Food was excellent, service was super friendly and the restaurant was a cute little place! We will be back! I had the eggs Florentine and I’m picky about my hollandaise... it was amazing.... we will be back!

The Reuben omelet is so good. The home fries need to be cooked a little more in my opinion. But they give you free coffee for waiting since the place is small. Their eggs Benedict is to die for. Would definitely come back

Great breakfast. Breakfast tasted fresh and well made. Good sized portions too.

Consistently the best sit down breakfast in Portsmouth. Corned beef hash is always on point. Perfectly seasoned and never dry. Downeast breakfast is a fantastic deal. Upgrade to the homemade cinnamon swirl French toast for a truly sublime breakfast experience! Add a White Russian for the hangover cure of your dreams.

Colby's is probably my favorite breakfast place in Portsmouth. It's tucked away but very well known in town and for good reason. The service is fast and helpful and the food is delicious. They always serve unique specials, too. If you're coming on the weekend, be prepared to wait. It's a small space but they typically have coffee outside while you wait.

Consistently good, fresh food. Love that it is locally sourced. Be prepared to wait for a table, but it is worth it!

Stopped in for breakfast while on a quick trip to Portland from out of town. I liked the feel of the dining area. I grabbed a seat right next to the window. There is a no cell phone policy in the dining area, which adds to the quaintness of the spot. The food was great. I got corned beef hash, which was made from scratch. I got my eggs cooked over easy, which came out perfectly. They even served the eggs on top of the hash so the yolks would break on top...its like they knew me. Highly reccomend.

Super friendly staff. No table sharing, wait your turn. Bottomless coffee. Great blueberry pancakes, stir-fried tofu, home fries, cinnamon toast. Large portions! Enjoy your meal.

This rain this is a small place but it's well worth a visit. I had corned beef hash and two eggs over easy and it was terrific. The staff was very attentive and kept my coffee cup full. I will definitely go back.
